Why support Rachel’s Challenge?
This school year, all students at Kyrene’s six middle schools were able to experience a one-of-a-kind program called Rachel’s Challenge. The assembly and follow-up trainings on kindness and compassion are based on the inspiring true story of Rachel Joy Scott, the first student who died in the Columbine school tragedy in 1999. Because of the overwhelming positive response from students, staff, parents and community Kyrene plans to bring back the Challenge presenters next year for additional student trainings.
Financial support of bringing in a program like was made possible by the Tempe Diablos and Kyrene Foundation. The Tempe Diablos have partnered with the L.A.
